The 35-year-old Nik Wallenda, “The King of the Highwire,” broke two world records on Sunday, Nov. 2. He has completed high-wire walk between Chicago’s Marina Towers without a safety harness.
Discovery Channel’s live broadcast of two tightrope walks:
First, Wallenda walked more than two city blocks uphill at a 15-degree angle from the Marina City west tower to the Leo Burnett Building on the other side of the Chicago River.
Then he walked blindfolded between the two Marina City towers.
Wallenda said in a statement, “I’m always pushing myself both physically and emotionally, I hope to inspire people around the world and show that the impossible is not so impossible if you set your mind to it.”
