Pro Infirmis is an organization for the disabled people, created a series of mannequins based on real people with physical disabilities. This campaign has been devised for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.  The project entitled “Because who is perfect? Get closer.”,  it is designed to provoke reflection on the acceptance of people with disabilities.

The beautiful process was documented in a video, capturing the joy of the models seeing their own unique figures recreated for the first time. But the best part of it all is that the mannequins were actually placed in store windows, filling the shop fronts on Zurich’s main downtown street, Bahnhofstrasse.

For people not used to seeing reflections of their body types in the commercial world, these new mannequins create an empowering experience by providing a platform of visibility in an industry that so often neglects to represent the diversity of bodies.

Please SHARE with friends and family. This is such a great message. We are all amazing people.
