Shreya Ghoshal – an Indian playback singer who mainly sings Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali and Malayalam films as well as other languages too.
She was just 16 when she first recorded the song for the film, “Bairi Piya” with Udit Narayan. She takes part in the 75th Children’s Special episode of Sa Re Ga Ma, where she caught the attention of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Do you know? Bhansali’s mother was watching the show and during Shreya’s performance, she called him to watch the performance of the “girl”.
And after watching the Shreya’s performance in the show, Sanjaya made up his mind that he would select the girl for his next assignment. According to him, “Shreya’s voice has the innocence needed for the character of Paro in Devdas.”
