David Kurt McClain, a man who has been suffering with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for over 12 years. Despite being completely paralyze by this disease, he continues to encourage and inspire hundreds of people by taking the ALS ice bucket challenge.

Explaining his decision to undertake the challenge using an eye-scan machine, Mr David McClain said: “I am paralysed from my shoulders down. I cannot speak, nor can I eat or drink. I am fed through a feeding tube. I cannot breathe without assistance of a ventilator.”

“But as bad as that sounds, I am able to keep a positive attitude with the help of my family, my friends and the good Lord today.”

He told all his Facebook friends to  “Not only take the ice bucket plunge but I also challenge you to make a donation of what you can to the ALS association.”

Everyone needs to see and share this video in the midst of this Ice Bucket Challenge trend.
