Recently a Global NCAP test was taken of Datsun Go and Maruti Swift cars in which both the cars failed. The results of the test were declared yesterday, and a rating of zero was given based on test criteria. It is mainly due to both the cars does not have airbags.

Both the cars are aimed for middle-class families of Indian market, and the results of the test are likely to affect the market share to a great extent. There is a need to make a policy for enhancing and deciding safety norms so that safety can be ensured.

Customers are hereby requested and suggested not to go for cars that compromise for safety norms, only reducing safety features. A preference should be given to the models that have at least two airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS). A clear discussion should be done for safety features before buying the same.
